Is SiriusXM Streaming Free with Subscription?
There is plenty of confusion about whether you can stream SiriusXM radio for free so we thought it only appropriate to explain SiriusXM in detail: their various subscription plans available and how to access their popular streaming service.
What is SiriusXM?
Sirius XM Holdings Inc. is an American broadcasting company that provides satellite radio and online audio services.
It has two main channels, Sirius (the original channel) and XM (which was launched in 2001). They offer a variety of programming including music, news, sports, talk shows, comedy and more.
It’s most popular product is the in-car streaming which seamlessly connects to your car audio and allows you to access the SiriusXM channels. Due to this, they charge different subscription prices based on whether you want in-car streaming or not.
SiriusXM is available in the US and Canada.
SiriusXM Subscriptions
In the US SiriusXM offers 3 plans; Platinum, Music & Entertainment and Music Showcase.
- Platinum is the most expensive plan and is priced at $22.99 per month. It includes over 425 channels covering sports, premium podcasts and some exclusive content plus all the basic packages
- Music and Entertainment is the middle offering (for $17.99 per month) and includes over 400 channels of ad-free music as well as spoken content and some additional original podcasts
- Music Showcase is the cheapest plan at $12.99 per month and only includes 100+ channels which cover limited topics (music, news, entertainment) and not all of this will be ad-free

SiriusXM Introductory Offers
To get users on-board, SiriusXM currently offers the first 3 months for $1 in the US. This offer went live as part of their New Year promotion for 2023.
In Canada, there are introductory offers however these do vary from those offered in the US. Equally the packages and pricing offered varies too. Visit the SiriusXM Canadian website (https://www.siriusxm.ca/plans/) for localised pricing.
Is SiriusXM Streaming Free?
With any of the paid subscriptions mentioned above you also get access to their streaming service at no extra cost. So in a way, yes it is free but you will need a subscription and there is a monthly price attached to that.
The streaming allows you to listen from any device with an internet connection and without commercials (depending on your plan). You can also create custom stations based on artists or genres that you like, as well as skip songs that don’t interest you. All these features are available both on their website and through their mobile app (available for iOS/Android).
